Dhamma.org is operated by the International Vipassana Technology Association, a non-profit organization offering IT services to organizers of Vipassana meditation courses in this tradition. When you register for a course on Dhamma.org, your registration is processed by one of three registration systems: DhammaReg, CALM, or Dipi. Each of these three registration systems developed to meet the needs of the centers, trusts, and regions they serve, and they are each operated by different organizations. DhammaReg is the online registration and course production system operated by DhammaReg, Inc., a 501(c)3 public charity incorporated in Delaware. DhammaReg is used throughout the Americas and in some other centers and trusts around the world. For a complete list of the centers and trusts using DhammaReg, please see the Financials page.

We make every effort to keep the cost of operating DhammaReg low. For instance, we strive whenever possible to rely on volunteer meditators in this tradition to support the operation of DhammaReg. We report annually on DhammaReg, Inc.’s finances and the costs of operating DhammaReg. To the centers and trusts who use DhammaReg, we approximate and represent their systems usage as a proportion of our total estimated current year operating costs. This provides centers and trusts an understanding of what is needed to maintain and constantly update a sophisticated online software system, according to current best practices with respect usability, data security, and user privacy.
