DhammaReg, Inc. connects meditation students to Vipassana meditation courses in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin as taught by S.N. Goenka by providing to meditation centers and trusts online systems that support course registration, set up, and production.

DhammaReg, the registration system operated by DhammaReg, Inc., receives registration information from the online registration forms published at Dhamma.org by the International Vipassana Technology Association. DhammaReg, Inc. shares a Privacy Policy with the International Vipassana Technology Association.

By using the online registration form at https://www.dhamma.org to apply for meditation courses or to provide dhamma service at a meditation center or location affiliated with such meditation courses, you agree to the following terms and conditions and all other terms and conditions referred to in this notice. Specifically, this notice covers how the DhammaReg registration system makes use of your mobile phone number and SMS and text-based communications using your mobile phone number to support your registration for courses in Vipassana meditation and dhamma service via the Dhamma.org website.

Providing Your Mobile Phone Number Is Optional. Persons who apply to participate in Vipassana meditation courses via the online registration form at https://www.dhamma.org may optionally provide their mobile phone number when they fill in the online application. If you do not wish to be contacted on your cellphone, you may leave the cellphone field blank. Providing your cellphone in the online application constitutes consent for the meditation center where you applied to call or text you on that number. Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary. You may also be contacted on your cellphone by other meditation centers in this tradition, according to the section “how your information will be used,” below.

How We Contact You Using Your Mobile Phone Number. Text messages from the meditation center will include the word “Vipassana” to identify that they are related to your participation in the meditation course.

Opting Out from Communications Via Your Mobile Phone Number. If you have already provided your cellphone number and wish to opt-out of receiving calls and/or texts on this number, you may contact the registrar for the course-location where you applied, using one of these methods:

• write to the registration@ email address for that course location, which is visible in the course-listing page of that location on https://www.dhamma.org, and which is also included in all email correspondence you receive from the registrar

• use the “Contact the Registrar” feature of the course-confirmation website. A URL for this website is included in the Acceptance and/or Waitlist email you received from the registrar.

At this time our systems do not support opting-out via STOP or other SMS commands; and we do not accept replies in any form via SMS. Every SMS message sent by our system will include the final sentence “Please DO NOT REPLY. Nobody will receive the text.” Replies to any message will receive an auto-responder with the same information. If you need to contact someone regarding your enrollment or participation in the meditation course, please call the number provided in the text, or use one of the methods above.

How Your Information Will Be Used. Calls and messages to your mobile phone will be only in the context of your voluntary enrollment for a particular meditation course. You may be called or texted on your cellphone as a reminder to confirm your attendance at the meditation course you registered for (if you have not already done so); and to receive urgent messages about attending the meditation course; and to inquire about your timely arrival at the course location if you have not arrived within the timeframe specified in your acceptance email. Your cellphone number will never be shared with or sold to any other organization unaffiliated with Vipassana meditation in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin as taught by S.N. Goenka, nor used for any purpose other than those listed above.
